Talk about bad timing

Listening to: nothing

I went out to dinner last evening and ate mussels. I spent the entire night throwing up. Now I feel like shit. Remind me never to eat mussels again.

I've just lost two weeks of work due to my conjunctivitis, and one week due to the Electronics section sitting on my pump. I'm at risk of losing another few days because I'm too weak to walk. Is this someone's idea of a joke?! I'm supposed to be finishing my PhD this year! I'm already behind 'cos I've spent months on pointless reports because they needed 'proof' that I'm capable of doing a PhD. And now when I've finally proved that, I keep falling ill! I mean WTF?!

I'm scared.

  3. Oh dear! I feel so bad that you're ill! So sorry to hear that.
I know it's difficult to see it this way, but take a deep breath and relax. Some things happen and there's nothing we can do about it. We just have to be positive and do what we can with what we have.
Everything will eventually work out, so don't see things in a negative light. I see it as you got a break for two weeks with ur conjunctivitis (not that it was fun, i'm sure it wasn't pleasant!) and the food poisoning will go away soon.
You'll be back to normal in no time. You haven't KEPT falling ill.. it's just unlucky that you had food poisoning and conjunctivitis so near to each other, but hopefully you won't be ill again.
Don't be scared. I know you can do what you set you mind to doing and this is just another challenge. You'll be fine. :)

  4. Mak - hehe mussels are these little buggers. Worst of all, they don't even taste that good!

N - thank you :-) I think this is just me panicking, which may not be a bad thing if it gets me to do some work!

Anon - thank you so much for your very encouraging words! :-)
